Manifiesta 2018
Engage Scotland, SCAN and the Scottish Artists Union reported back on the first year anniversary of the Visual Arts Manifesto.
In December 2018, we gathered at the Studio Pavillion at the House for an Art Lover, Glasgow to celebrate the first year of the #VisualArtsManifesto and report on the various activities each of the organisations had done during the year to advance the principles in the manifesto.
As well as presentations from the three organisations, attendees also got to contribute their own ideas as to how the #VisualArtsManifesto can grow and develop.
Another way forward for the #VisualArtsManifesto is to identify how we can best represent and lobby on behalf of the visual arts in Scotland. Participants were invited to list any links they had with MSPs and others, who can help advocate the values embodied in the manifesto.
Gordon, our Union's Finance & Projects Manager unveiled the new website to host the #VisualArtsManifesto, where you can add your voice of support of the manifesto and contribute your own ideas about the vision and values it represents.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event.
