Rally Against Open Fund Closure

Creative Scotland announced last week that it has taken the decision to close the Open Fund for Individuals to new applications due to the Scottish Government being unable to confirm release of £6.6m in Grant-in-Aid budget in the current financial year 2024-25. A number of other culture funding initiatives have been cut or paused by the Scottish government, but we see this as a short sighted decision that will directly affect freelance artists and makers, creating a devastating ripple affect across the whole cultural sector.

SAU have a limited amount of travel contributions, up to £10 per member to help with costs. This will be on a first come, first served basis and be reimbursed retrospectively after the rally / in person in cash on the day.
Please only apply for one of these if the cost of travel would prohibit you from taking part in the rally.
(Remember that this travel cost can be included in your 2024-2025 self-assessment as an expenditure item).
