Developing Creative Leaders

Saturday 19th January 2019, 10am - 6pm

Venue - An Talla Solais, West Argyle Street, Ullapool, IV26 2UG

This a one-day course developed for Scottish Artists Union members will offer creative leadership training in:

  • Collaboration and collective action;
  • How to set up a cooperative/artist-led group;
  • How to work non-hierarchically and to develop an inclusive space;
  • How to develop peer review and coaching systems.

Participants will learn how to organise, collaborate, exchange and build dialogue with peers, artists and other creative practitioners, as well as members of the public.  The course focuses on developing an understanding of how leadership can be developed through alternative ways of living and working in common for the benefit of the individual and the wider community.  It would be of particular benefit to artists wishing to establish and strengthen collaboration, and for those who have ideas on how to build positive change and connectivity for artists living in the Highlands and Islands.  It will include training, tools, open discussion, and the potential for founding a new Highlands and Islands-wide artist network.
