A Guide to Copyright with DACS

July 27, 2022 at 10:30am - 12pm

The Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS) was established by artists for artists over 30 years ago, as a not-for-profit visual artists’ rights management organisation. They are passionate about transforming the financial landscape for visual artists and act as a trusted broker for 180,000 artists worldwide.

DACS collect and distribute royalties to visual artists and their estates through their Payback, Artist's Resale Right, Copyright Licensing and Artimage schemes. In 2020, DACS paid £15.2 million in royalties to 72,000 artists and estates.

This one-off session will give you an introduction to DACS & copyright, tackle the language of artist's contracts as well as share real examples of how moral rights and exceptions play out in practice for artists.

Part of the session will be recorded and available for a time limited period.
