AGM 2023 - Announcement
This year our AGM theme is In-Solidarity-With. We are holding two events – an online AGM for formal business (SAU members only), and a second online In-Conversation event with Ben Lunn which is open to everyone. You can register for both these events via our events page.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 - Business: Saturday 26th August, 11.00 - 13:00, Zoom
At the AGM you can hear reports from SAU staff (Fair Work Reps, Finance, Learning) and our President, B.D. Owens, as we share our work over the past year. You also have the opportunity to vote in the next Executive Committee and discuss motions. Remember, as a member, you are ‘the Union’. You can propose a motion at the Annual General Meeting or put your name forward to serve on the Executive Committee 2023 -2024. Please complete the online form on the AGM event page and submit it by 21st August 2023.
In-Solidarity-With, an 'In Conversation' event with Ben Lunn (Musicians Union and STUC General Council): Saturday 26th August, 13:45 - 14:45, Zoom
The In-Solidarity-With In-Conversation event with Ben Lunn has sprung out of a conversation that began between Ben and SAU Vice President Tamara Rogovic at STUC Congress, held in Dundee in April 2023. Since moving to Scotland, Ben Lunn has been increasingly involved in various trade union and political campaigns across a wide variety of concerns and struggles. In 2020, Ben was elected to the Musicians’ Union EDI Committee, and in 2021 Ben founded the Disabled Artist Network. Ben Lunn also is chair of the North Lanarkshire Trades Council, and this cross-union work is what saw him nominated and elected as the Musician’s Union delegate to the STUC General Council. And since the beginning of 2023, Ben has been the chair of the Scotland and Northern Ireland Regional Committee of the Musician’s Union.
We are a trade union made up of creative thinkers and doers, our collective voice can be very powerful. We look forward to seeing you at the Scottish Artists Union AGM to take part in our democracy. Our trade union is as strong, informed and active as our members who take part.
